Prescott students with projects housed in the OYEA AllCare Barn assisted Dr. Powell in pulling blood from their hogs to be able to obtain the required health papers to travel to the county, district and state fairs.
Students are also shown doing the various work needed to keep their animals on track and the barn clean. They have cared for the animals twice a day since school was out for summer by feeding, cleaning pens, grooming and walking their animals in preparation to exhibit them this fall. It is a huge commitment on behalf of the students and parents.
Learning to do and doing to learn is helping these students expand their knowledge in animal husbandry of all species of livestock including cattle, sheep, goats and hogs.

🛟🐛 Save Fred!!
Students had to plan, communicate, and work as a team in order to save Fred the gummy worm. The end goal was to put the gummy worm into the lifesaver and flip the boat back over for Fred to safely ride in. 🚫 Rules included: Fred could not fall into the “water” more than three times. Students could only use the paper clips provided to move Fred, lifesaver, and boat. Fred could not be hurt with the paper clips. 🩵 Everyone did a great job working and communicating with their teams!
