Dr. Charles Looney visited Mr. Guidry’s Animal Science classes this morning to set up cows on the school farm for embryo transfer. Students helped load heifers into the shoot and Dr. Looney showed them how to implant a CIDR (Controlled Internal Drug Release). This device is used in cattle to synchronize estrus and improve pregnancy rates. #schoolfarm #herewegrow

This FAFSA event will take place at the high school on Parent Teacher Conference day, Thursday, March 13. If you are in need of help with your child’s FAFSA, please make plans to come.
Here's some information we encourage students and parents to have done before they come to the FAFSA event:
3-5 Business days before the FAFSA event, both students and parents will need to have their FSA ID's created. If it can be done in this time frame beforehand, it can ensure that their ID's are verified by the Social Security Administration verifying who they are. This must be completed before the students and parents can complete their part of the FAFSA.
To create FSA ID's, they need to go to the website: https://studentaid.gov/
The 2025-2026 FAFSA is based on 2023 tax information. It's best for the parents to bring their tax returns from that year in case anything is needed to answer any FAFSA questions.
If students and/or parents come to complete the FAFSA that day while I am there and they have not already created their FSA ID’s, we will only be able to create their FSA ID’s. We can begin the FAFSA, but we will get to a point where it ask’s for financial and tax information that we will not be able to complete until their FSA ID’s are verified.
